The AUTOMAJOR Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Switch (also called oil pressure sending unit) is a direct OEM replacement for GM vehicles from 1997 to 2010. This sensor measures engine oil pressure and sends the signal to the gauge cluster and ECU, which use the data to display oil pressure and monitor engine lubrication. This sensor replaces GM OEM 12616646, 12559780, 12562230, 12569323, 12573107, 12614969, and 12677836. Cross-references with aftermarket part numbers 926040, PS308T, PS308, V51730106, OPS172, and SK1S6713. If your vehicle uses any of these part numbers, this sensor is the correct replacement. The oil pressure sensor is mounted on the engine block, usually near the oil filter or at the rear of the engine. It uses a pressure-sensitive element to measure oil pressure and converts the reading to an electrical signal. The signal drives the oil pressure gauge on the dashboard and feeds data to the ECU for engine monitoring. When the sensor fails, the gauge reads incorrectly or the oil pressure warning light comes on. Common symptoms of a failed oil pressure sensor include: oil pressure gauge reading zero or fluctuating erratically, oil pressure warning light on the dashboard, check engine light with codes P0520, P0521, P0522, P0523, oil leaking from the sensor body, and inaccurate oil pressure readings. Replacing the oil pressure sensor is a 20-40 minute job. Tools needed: oil pressure sensor socket or deep socket (typically 1-1/16in or 27mm), ratchet, extension, and shop towels. Procedure: turn off the engine and let it cool, locate the sensor on the engine block, disconnect the electrical connector, unscrew the old sensor with the appropriate socket, apply thread sealant to the new sensor threads if specified, install the new AUTOMAJOR sensor and tighten to specification, reconnect the electrical connector, start the engine, and verify the gauge reads correctly. Check for leaks around the sensor. This sensor fits Chevrolet Silverado 1500/2500/3500, Tahoe, Suburban, Avalanche, Express, Kodiak, Camaro, Corvette, Impala, Monte Carlo, Trailblazer; GMC Sierra 1500/2500/3500, Yukon, Savana, Envoy; Cadillac Escalade, CTS, DeVille, Seville; Buick LeSabre, Park Avenue, Rainier; Pontiac Grand Prix, Bonneville, GTO, Firebird; Hummer H2; across model years 1997 to 2010 with 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 8.1L V8 and various V6 engines. Always confirm your vehicle's OEM sensor part number before ordering. Backed by AUTOMAJOR — replacement parts for GM vehicles.
