Also known as "false spider crabs" Thai Micro Crabs are tiny, fully aquatic crabs that so far have only been found in one specific river in Thailand. They are a new and rare addition to the aquarium hobby, making them difficult to find in any pet store or even online. This is one of the few types of crab that can live fully immersed in water at all times, so they are able to be kept in any freshwater aquarium. Due to their small size, these tiny pet crabs pose little or no threat to most fish or other aquarium inhabitants; however, aggressive fish or animals may come after them. They tend to do very well in tanks with dwarf shrimp, such as Sky Blue Shrimp, Cardinal Shrimp, Orange Sakura Shrimp, and Tangerine Shrimp, as well as smaller fish, like Danios, Rasboras, Cardinal Tetras, Endlers, Dwarf Plecos, Kuhli Loaches, Hatchet Fish, Dwarf Gourami, and guppies. They can also live with snails, including Limpets, Assassin Snails, Ramshorn Snails, etc. These crabs are a pale silver, ghost like color, and they resemble spiders in appearance because of their unusually long legs relative to their bodies. NOTE: These crabs are EXTREMELY small, so we recommend them ONLY for those experienced in raising nano aquarium animals. Thai Micro Crabs don't grow any larger than 1/2 inch in diameter (including their leg-span), making them great for nano aquariums. Their spider-like appearance makes them perfect for tanks with a spooky aquarium backdrop, such as a sunken ship or a realistic Aztec or Mayan temple decoration.
